Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Night Shift Step Down position in an acute care hospital, requiring a MO or compact RN license and expertise with vasopressor titration.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Step Down Unit of an acute care hospital
- Night shifts with a schedule of 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
- Patient ratio is 1:4
- Required to work 2 shifts every other weekend
- Float to lower acuity units as needed
- Utilizes Epic EMR system
- Specialized procedures include titration of vasopressors, sedation medication, insulin drips, trach vents, arterial lines, external pacemakers, and chest tubes
- Navy scrubs are required for this position
- No on-call requirement
- No locals accepted (must live more than 75 miles away)
- No more than 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract, and no time off during the first week of orientation
- Permanent employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler
- Travelers may remain for up to 18 months with a required 3-month break after this period
- Free parking is available onsite
- Testing modules and orientation are provided before start
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required
- Current certifications in ACLS, BCLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
- Minimum of 2 years recent bedside RN experience, including step down experience within the last 6 months
- Epic charting experience required
- Not open to first-time travelers
- Candidate must reside outside of a 75-mile radius
