Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Neuro ICU RN with at least one year of dedicated neuro critical care experience and required certifications for a night shift contract.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 24-bed Neurosurgical ICU within a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level I Trauma Center
• Patient population includes neurological and neurosurgical cases, including post-thrombectomy and post-craniotomy care
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2
• Night shift position working 3x12s from 19:00 to 07:30, various days throughout the week
• Minimum of 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week scheduling period
• Floating within the hospital may be required
• Epic is used for charting and EMR documentation
• First-time travelers are accepted if experience criteria are met
• No on-call requirements for this position
• Navy scrubs are required while on shift
• High acuity, fast-paced ICU environment
• Candidates residing within 75 miles are considered local
• Maximum of 10 RTO days permitted, with blackout dates for RTO during March 14–21, May 8–11, May 21–27, and June 28–July 9

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a dedicated Neuro ICU
• Competence in hourly neurological assessments, management of intracranial pressure, EVDs, subarachnoid hemorrhage, post-thrombectomy, and post-craniotomy care
