Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a fast-paced Emergency Department position with strong pediatric exposure and Epic experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department
• Patient population includes all age groups and a broad range of emergencies, including trauma, neurological, psychiatric, and substance use disorders
• Average daily census is 70 with approximately 160 visits per day and 50 beds
• Shift is 12-hour nights from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, scheduled for 36 hours per week
• Required to work every other weekend
• No call requirements
• Float as needed to ICU and ED for assisting and patient sitting, following a team nursing approach
• Epic is the EMR utilized and prior experience is required
• Specialized procedures include conscious sedation, trauma alert/activation, stroke alert, and cath lab activation
• Unit uses Omnicell for medication and Voalte for communication
• Responsibilities include triage, management of acute and critical conditions, and participation in trauma, stroke, and abuse cases
• Expect to use point of care ultrasound, EPOC, Belmont, Ranger, and teleneurology equipment
• Team nursing with helping hands support is standard
• Unit orientation is 36 hours over one week with classroom and clinical training
• Scrubs may be any color
• Travelers within 50 miles are accepted but at the local pay rate
• References are required for consideration

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years recent Emergency Department experience
• Experience with pediatric population highly preferred
• Certifications required: AHA or Red Cross ACLS, CPI, PALS, and TNCC
• Epic EMR experience required
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, triage, and general ER skills required
• First time travelers are not accepted
• Former employees of any facility associated with SolutionHealth are not eligible
