Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 3 years of recent cardio-thoracic OR experience and a CO or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Operating Room of a Level 1 Trauma Center with 41 ORs
- Patient ratio is 1:1 for surgical cases
- Perform cases in Cardio-Thoracic surgery as well as general, GU/GYN, neuro, ENT, and plastics
- Day shifts, with various start times (some 6:45-19:15, others at 8:45 and 10:45 as needed)
- Weekend shifts required per unit needs
- On-call is required, approximately 6 shifts per 8-week schedule period
- Floating required to other Operating Rooms within the system
- Uses Epic EMR; proficiency required
- Responsible for circulating and scrubbing on a variety of complex surgical cases, with a focus on cardio-thoracic procedures
- Participation in a highly specialized trauma team environment
- Must follow strict protocols for requesting time off; black-out dates apply for RTO
- Applicants living less than 75 miles from the facility are considered local candidates
- Must be able to work some weekends and be available for on-call shifts as scheduled
Requirements
- Active CO or compact RN license required
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum of 3 years of recent cardio-thoracic surgery experience as a circulator, scrub, or both
- Experience working in Level 1 or 2 trauma center required
- Previous Operating Room experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- First-time travelers are not accepted
