Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric RN with at least 2 years of PEDS experience and California RN license for an acute care position with critical care float requirements.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in an acute care hospital pediatric unit
• Day shift schedule of four 8-hour shifts per week, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Weekend rotation is required
• No on-call duties
• Floating to PICU and NICU units is likely and candidates must be comfortable caring for critically ill children
• Responsible for assessment, coordination, and delivery of nursing care including direct care, education, and transitions of care
• Candidates must foster collaborative relationships with patients, families, physicians, and care teams
• Only one holiday off will be approved during the assignment
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Former staff may return as travelers only if they have been away for at least one year
• Must be available for required lab work within 3-5 days after signing contract

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS (AHA) certification
• Current PALS certification
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience required
• Critical care experience in PICU or IMCU strongly preferred
• APHON certification is preferred
