Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Ambulatory Surgery Center position requiring an OK or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in an ambulatory surgery center specializing in eye procedures
• Serve a diverse surgical patient population, with a preference for candidates with ophthalmology experience
• Day shift schedule, working four 10-hour shifts per week
• No call or night shifts specified
• 50-mile radius rule applies; local candidates are not eligible
• Provide nursing care for a variety of surgical cases, primarily ophthalmology procedures
• Assist physicians during examinations, minor diagnostic procedures, and treatments
• Administer medications, monitor IV infusions, and document patient responses
• Delegate tasks to support staff and provide patient care education to patients and families
• Maintain effective communication with team members and respond to the cultural and language needs of patients
• Eye surgery experience is preferred but not required
• Contract extensions are limited; after one extension (26 weeks total), a 6-month break is required before reapplying

Requirements

• Active RN license in Oklahoma or another compact state
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Minimum of one year of RN experience
• Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
