Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with a current IL license, Level 1 trauma experience, and strong scrub and circulate skills for night shifts.
Responsibilities
- Hospital-based Operating Room setting with Level 1 Trauma Center designation
- Night shifts with a 4x10 schedule, 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required, typically 2 weekends per month
- One on-call 10-hour weekend shift per month, with no weekday call
- Caseload includes Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery cases
- Floating to other units within scope and up to 50 miles from home facility is mandatory
- Cerner EMR is used for charting; prior experience preferred but not required
- Must be willing to float across units and to different facilities within 50 miles if required
- Clinical team-based support is provided when assigned outside primary competency
- Navy blue scrubs are provided and required
- Strict compliance with lab work completion within 72 hours of offer acceptance
- Maximum of 5 days RTO permitted, with no more than 2 consecutive days and no RTO on weekends or around holidays
- First day must not fall on or near a holiday due to RTO restrictions
- Holiday coverage is required and calling out on a holiday may result in contract cancellation
- Local candidates are encouraged to apply
Requirements
- Active IL RN license (no pending licensure accepted)
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care OR experience required
- Level 1 trauma experience required
- Demonstrated scrub and circulate skills required
- Experience in Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery required
- Preferred experience in Neurosurgery, Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and Gynecology
- Must provide proof of COVID vaccine
- Must live within a 75-mile radius of the facility
