Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float Pool position on night shift, requiring at least 2 years of relevant experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Float Pool covering multiple hospital units including medical/oncology/stroke, tele, MedSurg/Surg/Urology, Ortho/MedSurg, and ER for MedSurg holds
• Care for adults and a variety of patient populations including post-surgical, stroke, oncology, CHF, COPD, respiratory, GI issues, ortho (total joints), and COVID
• Possible rare assignments include total care or acting as a CNA due to staffing needs
• Shifts are 12 hours, nights (7p-7a), with every other weekend required
• No on-call obligations
• EMR system used is Epic
• May float to pediatrics and psych units if experienced or comfortable
• The hospital is a non-profit community facility with 226 beds
• Scrubs must be any solid color with no graphics or designs
• Must be able to provide two supervisory references prior to start

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license is required
• Minimum of 2 years Med/Surg Tele nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required; PALS is preferred
• Proficiency with telemetry and general MedSurg equipment and procedures such as chest tubes, trachs, central lines, foleys, NG tubes, wound care, and ostomies
• Must pass a telemetry exam during compliance
• First-time travelers are considered for this position
