Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Operating Room Circulator for adult surgery with trauma call and Level 1 operating room experience.

Responsibilities

• Position based in an adult surgery operating room
• Requires circulating for operative and other invasive procedures
• Day shifts Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Trauma call and holiday coverage are required
• Level 1 trauma experience of at least 6 months is mandatory
• Follows the AORN Standards of perioperative nursing
• Provides direct and indirect perioperative nursing care for patients with potentially compromised protective reflexes or self-care abilities
• Individualizes patient care according to health status, age, and surgical procedure
• Responsible for thorough evaluation and documentation of perioperative care
• Works collaboratively within the surgical team environment
• Holiday and trauma call rotation is mandatory
• Specific scrub or dress code requirements may apply

Requirements

• Active OK RN license or Compact RN license required
• Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• Minimum of one year of recent acute care operating room RN experience required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required
• Excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills
• Ability to function effectively within a team
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
