Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring WA or compact RN licensure, telemetry experience, and ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work on the 2E-2W Telemetry Unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes high acuity telemetry cases such as PCI pre/post care, CHF, MI, sepsis, stroke, neutropenia, COVID with high oxygen needs, post-cath lab, and oncology
• High volume of post-cath lab patients requiring frequent checks and familiarity with TR bands and stent placements
• Shifts are 12 hours, 7a-7p, with day shift assignment
• Requires floating to other Med/Surg Telemetry units as needed
• Uses Epic EMR
• Exposure to a high Spanish-speaking and underserved patient population
• Must demonstrate compassion and commitment to charity care
• First-time travelers may be considered with at least 2 years of nursing experience and minimum 1 year of telemetry experience
• Free onsite parking is provided
• Any color scrubs may be worn

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and ONS chemo certification required
• Experience with trach care, chest tubes, TR band, post-cath lab care, central line maintenance, Bipap, high-flow oxygen, and titratable drips (diltiazem, heparin) required
• Ability to read, interpret, and measure cardiac rhythm strips is required
• Epic EMR experience required or must be willing to learn
