Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position in a Level III trauma center, requiring an active MA RN license and recent MICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU within a Level III trauma center
• Adult patient population with diagnoses such as substance abuse, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock
• RN to patient ratio is typically 1:2 or 1:1 with high acuity, and 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to Med/Surg units
• Night shift schedule from 19:00-07:30
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required, primarily to Med/Surg units
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Attending physicians and residents are present in the ICU 24/7
• Provide critical care to high-acuity adult patients in the ICU
• Free on-site parking available
• First time travelers not specified; please inquire if needed
• Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted but at a reduced rate
• Scrub color/type not specified; inquire prior to assignment

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required and must be in hand at the time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) are required
• Minimum of 2 years of continuous adult ICU experience, preferably in a MICU setting
• Competency in reading telemetry strips is required
• Must be able to float to Medical/Surgical units as assigned
• Flu vaccination required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
