Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery assignment in California requiring a CA RN license, recent L&D and post-partum experience, and multiple certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Labor & Delivery unit within an acute care hospital
• Patient ratio is 1:3
• Day shifts available: 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:30, with option for 4x12 upon request
• Travelers must float between all like units and across facilities within the state as needed
• Uses Epic charting system
• Orientation consists of 36 hours
• Responsibilities include providing labor, delivery, and immediate post-partum care
• Scrubs provided for L&D staff
• Expectations include occasional floating between comparable units within the health system
• Holiday and weekend coverage may be required according to unit needs
• A minimum of two supervisory references from within the last three years in a similar specialty are required
• RTO requests should be minimal; extensive RTO may impact consideration

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required; pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent labor and post-partum nursing experience
• Certifications required: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, and NRP
• AWHONN Advanced is preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• First-time travelers for this position are not accepted
• Must not be a local candidate and must live at least 50 miles from the facility
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be declared at time of application
