Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 18+ months of experience in interventional cardiology, STEMI procedures, and EP devices for a 13-week contract at a short-term acute care hospital.
Responsibilities
- Short-term acute care hospital setting within a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab
- Procedures include cardiac catheterization, PCI, PTCA, STEMI intervention, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, rotablader atherectomy, permanent and temporary pacemaker insertion, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Structural heart procedures include TAVR, Watchman, and Left Atrial Appendage (LAA) closure (preferred)
- EP procedures include ablations, cardiac mapping, arrhythmia induction, conduction studies, EP evaluation, and AICD insertion/programming (preferred)
- Peripheral and vascular procedures include angioplasty, carotid stenting, renal artery stent placement, and upper/lower extremity angiography (preferred)
- Cerner EMR; experience required
- Siemens equipment preferred
- 4x10 day shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- On-call required: approximately 10 shifts per month, including weekend call
- Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate facility is required of all travelers
- Local candidates (Indiana residents) are accepted for this Allied position
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Candidates must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO may be auto-approved; additional RTO requires facility approval
- Any current or past permanent or PRN employee of IU Health must have a 12-month break before being eligible to apply as a traveler
- Current or past IU Health travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health are required to take a consecutive break to reset travel eligibility; contact your recruiter for details
- Out-of-state residents require a 90-day break and in-state residents require a 180-day break to reset eligibility prior to reaching the traveler year mark
- Parking is free
- Scrubs color/dress code not specified
Requirements
- Minimum of 18 months of Cath Lab experience required; 2+ years preferred
- Strong hands-on experience with interventional cardiology and STEMI procedures required
- Comfort and proficiency with EP devices is a hard requirement
- Current BLS, ACLS, and ARRT(R) certifications required; AHA and RQI accepted and must be current
- Valid Indiana or Compact state license required; pending license considered if application has already been submitted
- Cerner EMR experience required
- 2 supervisor references required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- License required if applicable
