Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a 13-week ICU/ACU/CCU assignment in Yakima, WA, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and at least one prior completed travel assignment.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 226-bed non-profit community hospital's 2NW Advanced Care unit (ACU/CCU) with 11 ICU beds
- Patient population includes CHF, respiratory distress, ACS, A-fib RVR, DM, CVA overflow, post-cath, and select surgical patients (vascular, abdominal, GI)
- Procedures and monitoring include chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, BiPAP, blood product administration, and femoral arterial sheath monitoring (travelers do not pull sheaths)
- Common drips include diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitroglycerin, and heparin
- Preferred experience with arterial lines, Impella, and/or IABP
- EMR: Epic
- 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM)
- 36 hours per week
- Every-other-weekend rotation required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required to Telemetry (2EW), Med-Surg, and Neurology-Medical units
- Candidates will undergo a SimpliFi clinical interview followed by unit final approval
- Two supervisor-level references (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or above) required prior to start
- Scrub color: any color, professional attire
Requirements
- Active WA state or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Must have completed at least one prior travel nursing assignment — first-time travelers will not be considered
- Experience with chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and femoral arterial sheath monitoring required
- Epic EMR experience required
