Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Acute/IMC unit specializing in school-age and burn care patients, requiring a minimum of 2 years of pediatric nursing experience and Epic proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient pediatric unit (Bloomberg 10 South) within a large academic hospital setting (500+ bed facility)
• Patient population ranges from a few months to 23 years old
• Medical diagnoses include cystic fibrosis, asthma, diabetes, renal failure, burns, and seizures; surgical cases include neurologic, orthopedic, genitourinary, plastic, and ENT procedures
• Mixed Acute Care and IMC unit; acute care nurse-to-patient ratio is 4:1 and IMC ratio is 3:1
• Travelers care for general pediatric patients only — burn unit and EMU patient populations are excluded from traveler assignments
• Rotating 7A/7P 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Two 12-hour on-call shifts required per schedule
• Holiday coverage required as needed by the unit
• Uses Epic EMR
• Travel nursing experience is preferred but not required
• Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate
• This is a high-acuity academic medical center — strong clinical candidates are encouraged to apply

Requirements

• Active RN license — Maryland or Compact license required
• Current BLS certification required
• PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience required
• Epic experience required
• Experience in a comparable large hospital setting (500+ beds) required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Active licensure documentation required
• One professional reference required for consideration
