Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 24-week Oncology/Women's Surgical travel assignment in Asheville, NC, requiring 2+ years of experience and an active NC or compact RN license.
Details
- Located on the 9th floor of a hospital oncology/women's surgical unit (9K) with 24 beds
- Day shift hours: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
- Patient ratio of 1:4 or 1:5
- Typical procedures include occasional pelvic exams, echocardiograms, and thoracentesis
- Charting performed in Cerner EMR
- Day shift team consists of 1 charge nurse coordinator (CNC), 4–6 RNs, 2 CNAs, and 1 HUC
- 6 weekend days required per schedule block
- On-call is rare
- Floating to other med/surg units is possible but infrequent
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment)
- Oncology certification (ONC) required for all RNs in this oncology role
- 2+ years of recent oncology RN experience required
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position
- Chemo certification is preferred and candidates holding it will be prioritized
- RN dress code: navy, white, or a combination of both colors
