Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position in Asheville, NC, requiring broad surgical knowledge across multiple service lines and Cerner experience.

Responsibilities

• Located in a hospital setting within the Operating Room department
• Patient ratio is 1:1
• Shift hours are 10:45 AM – 9:15 PM on a variable schedule
• On-call is required
• Floating to other departments may be required
• Cerner is used for documentation
• 13-week contract
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• This is a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center serving as the region's referral center
• The hospital also supports a Level III NICU, Mission Children's Hospital, the busiest robotic surgery program in the Carolinas, and the region's only open heart and interventional cardiology program

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the start of the assignment)
• Minimum 1 year of recent OR/surgical nursing experience required
• Broad surgical knowledge required, with experience across multiple service lines including general, GYN, robotics, neuro, orthopedics, plastic surgery, urology, burn, and trauma
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
