Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN Perioperative Circulator for an Ambulatory Surgery Center position requiring at least one year of acute OR experience, with ophthalmology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Position is based in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) environment
  • Perioperative circulator role focused on operative and other invasive procedures
  • Schedule is four 10-hour day shifts per week, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • No call, no weekend, and no holiday requirements
  • Ophthalmology procedure experience is preferred
  • Responsible for direct and indirect professional nursing care of surgical patients throughout the perioperative experience
  • Accountable for ongoing evaluation and documentation of all components of care using the nursing process
  • Individualizes patient care based on health status, age, and the specific surgery or procedure being performed
  • Previous travelers or workers who have reached 26 cumulative weeks at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for another contract
  • Compliance with onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, medical requirements) is strictly enforced and must be completed by the designated deadline — no start date flexibility will be granted

Requirements

  • Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
  • CNOR certification preferred
  • Minimum of one year of experience in an acute operating room environment required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
  • Strong knowledge of AORN Standards required
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
