Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position at a freestanding emergency department (FSED) in Dover, NH, requiring 2 years of ED experience and an active NH or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Freestanding emergency department (FSED) setting in Dover, NH with 11 beds
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Unit staffed with 16 staff members; night shift runs 2 RNs (7p–7a), with a mid-shift RN (11a–11p) also on unit
• Patient ratios vary based on census
• EMR: Meditech
• Floating may be required to Portsmouth ED and Seabrook ED
• Every other weekend required; no on-call requirement
• Full-service emergency department providing comprehensive emergency care
• Preferred candidates will have experience in an FSED environment
• Preferred certifications include CEN, CPEN, and/or TCRN
• Ideal candidate is independent, autonomous, a critical thinker, adaptable, and possesses strong clinical and relational skills
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS and/or ENPC, and TNCC
• CPI certification required (SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA may be accepted in lieu of CPI)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent ED experience in a hospital setting required
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
• One professional reference required (two required if currently residing in Florida or Missouri)
