Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Fort Wayne, IN, requiring 2–4 years of cardiovascular OR experience and the ability to circulate complex open-heart cases.

Responsibilities

• Works in an Open Heart Surgery unit with 4 OR suites
• Day shift: 6:30 AM–5:00 PM
• On-call required one night per week and every sixth weekend
• Patient ratio is 1:1
• Circulates complex cardiovascular and thoracic cases including CABG, AVR, MVR, Ascending Aortic Aneurysms, Aortic Root Replacements, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repairs, Femoral-Popliteal Bypass, Carotid Endarterectomy, AV fistula, Impella placement, ECMO, and Thoracotomy
• Preferred experience with Ventricular Assist Devices and robotic thoracotomy
• Charting performed in Cerner EMR
• No floating to other units
• 13-week contract
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• RTO requests must be for less than one week in duration
• Candidates who have worked at any CHS facility as permanent staff within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position
• Certifications may not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date

Requirements

• Active Indiana RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification (must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start)
• 2–4 years of recent cardiovascular OR/CVOR experience required
• Proficiency circulating complex cardiovascular and thoracic cases (CABG, AVR, MVR, aortic aneurysm repairs, Femoral-Popliteal Bypass, Carotid Endarterectomy, AV fistula, Impella, ECMO, Thoracotomy)
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this travel position
• A valid driver's license is required for consideration
• Must have a US Social Security Number
