Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ACU/CCU position at a community hospital in Yakima, WA, requiring at least one prior travel assignment and a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

• Work in the ACU/CCU unit of a 226-bed non-profit community hospital with 11 ICU beds
• Patient population includes CHF, respiratory distress, ACS, A-fib RVR, DM, CVA overflow, post-cath patients, and surgical patients (vascular, abdominal, GI)
• Common procedures include blood product administration, BiPAP, chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and monitoring femoral arterial sheaths (travelers do not pull femoral sheaths)
• Common drips include diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitro, and heparin
• EMR: Epic
• 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating to Telemetry, Telemetry 2EW, Med-Surg, and Neurology-Medical units required

Requirements

• Active WA state or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
• Experience with chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and femoral arterial sheath monitoring required
• Experience with patient types including CHF, ACS, respiratory distress, and post-cath care required
• Epic EMR experience
• Arterial line (Art line), Impella, and/or IABP experience preferred
• Two professional references from a supervisor or above (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or equivalent) required prior to start

• Any color scrubs are acceptable, professional appearance required
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
