Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position in Washington, DC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of US hospital OR experience and an active DC RN license.
Details
- Hospital operating room (OR) setting
- Night shift schedule: 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
- On-call responsibilities required
- 40 hours per week, 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active DC RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA-issued only)
- CPI certification required
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience in a US hospital required
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
- BSN highly desired
- Active US SSN required
- Must reside more than 25 miles from the facility to qualify for a travel position
- Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the past 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer
- Date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsible for scrubbing and/or circulating duties for a variety of operative procedures
- Prepares the OR for patients and surgical procedures, assembles equipment and supplies, and verifies that equipment is functional and implants are available
- Adheres to aseptic technique standards and intraoperative patient care protocols
- Consults and coordinates with the surgical team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate intraoperative patient care plans
- Serves as a communication liaison between patients, families, and the operating team
