Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position in Washington, DC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of US hospital OR experience and an active DC RN license.

Details

• Hospital operating room (OR) setting
• Night shift schedule: 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• On-call responsibilities required
• 40 hours per week, 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA-issued only)
• CPI certification required
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience in a US hospital required
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
• BSN highly desired
• Active US SSN required
• Must reside more than 25 miles from the facility to qualify for a travel position
• Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the past 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer
• Date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for scrubbing and/or circulating duties for a variety of operative procedures
• Prepares the OR for patients and surgical procedures, assembles equipment and supplies, and verifies that equipment is functional and implants are available
• Adheres to aseptic technique standards and intraoperative patient care protocols
• Consults and coordinates with the surgical team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate intraoperative patient care plans
• Serves as a communication liaison between patients, families, and the operating team
