Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift MICU position at a Level III Trauma Center in Massachusetts, requiring 2+ years of continuous adult ICU experience and an active MA RN license.

Details

• 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU (MICU) at a Level III Trauma Center within a 400+ bed community hospital
• Adult patient population including diagnoses such as substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock
• Attendings and residents are present in the ICU 24 hours/day
• RN-to-patient ratio is 1:1 or 1:2 in the ICU; ratio increases to 1:4 or 1:5 when floating to Med/Surg units
• Night shift: 19:00–07:30 (no shift rotation required for nights)
• Every other weekend (EOW) requirement
• Floating to Medical/Surgical units required
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• EMR: Epic

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN license required — no pending or conditional licenses accepted
• BLS and ACLS certifications required — AHA only; Red Cross and other providers are not accepted at this location
• Minimum 2 years of continuous adult ICU experience required, preferably in a MICU setting
• Telemetry strip reading competency required
• Epic EMR experience required

• Candidates with a permanent residence within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are considered local and subject to a reduced pay rate
