Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a Level III Trauma Center in Puyallup, WA, with experience in a large acute care facility and broad CT case types including general, diagnostic, interventional, and ER/critical cases.

Details

• Work in an imaging department with 3 CT suites at a 375-bed Level III Trauma Center
• Day shift case mix includes general, diagnostic, interventional, ER, and critical cases; evening/night shift is approximately 90% ER and ICU patients
• High-volume department seeing over 100 patients in a 24-hour period
• Cardiac CT experience is preferred
• Equipment includes Siemens Dual Source CT 128 Flash, Definition 64 (interventional CT), and Definition Edge 128 in the ER; prior experience with this equipment is not required
• Injector: MedRad; medication dispensing via Pyxis; PACS: Change Healthcare
• EMR: Epic
• 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• 2–3 on-call shifts per month; call hours are 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekend rotation applies; some positions require every weekend
• Holiday coverage expected every other holiday
• Floating is not typically required

Requirements

• Current BLS, ARRT (CT & R), and WA state license required if applicable
• Acute care experience in a large Level III or higher facility required
• Critical access-only experience is not sufficient for this role
• Broad experience with general, diagnostic, interventional, and ER/critical CT case types required
• Candidates with as little as 1 year of experience will be considered if they have experience in a large Level 3+ facility and are comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• At least one supervisor-level reference required for consideration; a second reference will be needed prior to start
• COVID vaccination required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered provided they have experience in a large Level 3+ facility with broad CT experience
• Support on unit includes a Lead CT Tech, Radiologist (on-site during the day, remote at night), IR MD and PA, Respiratory Therapy, Hospitalist, and a CT transporter (available except 4:00 AM – 9:00 AM)
• Up to 5 CT Techs on during business hours; after 5:00 PM, 3 CT Techs on duty
• Orientation includes a facility new employee orientation (NEO) followed by approximately 1 week of department-specific training, with additional time available if needed
• Schedule follows a repeating cycle with minor alterations; shift length and time are fixed per posting and cannot be altered at candidate request
• RTO requests must be approved by the manager
• Scrubs should be any solid color with a professional appearance; logos and designs are not permitted
