Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Mixed Acuity PCU position at a short-term acute care hospital, requiring solid neuro experience and Cerner proficiency on a day shift schedule.

Details

• Work in a mixed acuity Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a 194-bed short-term acute care hospital
• Unit serves both medical-surgical and progressive care patients, with specialty areas including oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary
• MS patient ratio is 1:5-6; PCU patient ratio is 1:3-4
• Exposure to cardizem, amiodarone, and insulin drips
• Patients include unstable strokes and those requiring BiPap
• Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
• Charting via Cerner (experience required)
• Free parking available
• Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
• Scrub colors: red top, black bottoms

Requirements

• Active IN state RN license, compact license, or IN temporary license in hand prior to start
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA and RQI formats accepted)
• Minimum 18 months to 2 years of RN experience required
• Solid neuro nursing experience required
• MS/Tele or PCU RN background accepted
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Nursing degree from a program accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
• Indiana-licensed RNs are not eligible for this position (PCU is not exempt from this facility rule)
