Description

American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist for a diagnostic radiology position at a Level I Trauma and Level I Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital, with experience across a full spectrum of radiology exams required.

Details

• Diagnostic radiology department in a large acute care teaching hospital with Level I Trauma and Level I Pediatric Trauma designations, also designated as a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center
• Patient population includes adults and pediatrics from the ED, ICUs, nursing units, and outpatient settings across the full spectrum of radiology exams and diagnoses
• Average patient volume of 350–400 patients per day
• Equipment includes Shimadzu RadSpeed general rad room, Intelli-C multipurpose unit, Konica and Shimadzu portables, and GE and Siemens R/F rooms
• EMR: Epic (experience noted)
• 12-hour day shifts, Friday through Sunday, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• This is a weekend-only position with no rotation between weekdays and weekends
• On-call is required and rotated fairly among full-time, part-time, PRN, and travel staff
• No floating required

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in diagnostic radiology, with most recent experience within the last year
• Current BLS and ARRT-R certification required
• Active state license required, if applicable
• Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude
• At least 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• Former permanent employees of any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being considered
• Orientation includes a facility and departmental tour with introductions, and up to 5 days of departmental orientation (flexible based on traveler experience)
• Holiday coverage is expected unless time off is approved in advance by the manager
• RTO requires manager approval
• Department is supported by a lead tech, modality supervisor, and Imaging Manager, with a diverse team ranging from new graduates to long-tenured staff
