Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist for an acute care hospital position specializing in NICU/PEDS, requiring Epic EMR experience and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

Details

  • Acute care hospital setting within a therapy department
  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM day shift
  • 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts
  • Position is specifically focused on NICU and pediatric (PEDS) patients
  • Epic EMR used; experience is required
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active OT license for the state of Illinois required; license required if applicable
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant OT experience
  • NICU and/or PEDS experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Level 1 Trauma experience required
  • BLS (CPR) certification required
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy required
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

  • Performs patient evaluations, develops individualized plans of care, and adjusts treatment based on patient response and evidence-based practice
  • Educates patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare providers using relevant teaching methods
  • Utilizes standardized outcomes measures to accurately reflect functional patient performance
  • Collaborates with the medical team to communicate patient status, activity/transfer recommendations, and discharge planning
  • Provides supervision to COTAs and rehabilitation technicians in accordance with regulatory guidelines
  • Documents evaluations and plans of care per department policy and regulatory standards
  • RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
  • Travelers who have been on assignment at this health system for 1 continuous year must take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system
