Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Pediatrics position requiring chemotherapy/oncology experience, APHON certification, and night shift availability.
Details
- General pediatrics unit serving hem/onc, orthopedic, and surgical patient populations
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required
- Floating to PICU and NICU required for appropriate assignments, with potential float to additional units based on skill set and hospital needs
- Charting system: Epic
Requirements
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, PALS, and APHON
- Preferred certifications: NRP, OCN
- Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience required
- General pediatrics experience required
- Chemotherapy/oncology experience required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Two current professional references required
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted
- Navy scrubs required
- Any RTO or schedule requests must be submitted upfront at the time of consideration
- Former RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the RWJBH health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
- Block scheduling and special scheduling requests cannot be accommodated unless approved at time of booking

Unit is traveler friendly. Multiple RNs to a room for day shift. Must be a strong, well rounded circulator cases vary greatly. If you're in the room you most likely are the senior nurse.
Cons
If you hate precepting, this is not the place for you.
