Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU (NSICU) night shift position requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and active NC or compact RN license.

Details

• 12-bed Neuro ICU (NSICU) unit in a hospital setting in Asheville, NC
• Patient population includes post-thrombectomy, TPA, and post-neurosurgery neurological patients
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Procedures performed on unit include CRRT, bedside EVDs, and A-line monitoring
• Baxter pumps used on unit
• Cerner EMR used for documentation
• Night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Self-scheduling with 6 weekend shifts per scheduling period
• Travelers float first to other ICUs or step-down units
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Neurology ICU experience preferred
• Experience with care of neurology post-thrombectomy, TPA, and post-neurosurgery patients preferred
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Navy blue scrubs required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
• Neurology-experienced ICU nurses are preferred for this role
