Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a tertiary care hospital in Rochester, NY, requiring a NY RN license in hand and Epic experience.

Details

• 39-bed combined Acute Stroke and Med/Surg Telemetry unit (Unit 7800) within a 528-bed tertiary care hospital
• Specializes in acute stroke patients, neurological disorders, and acute medical patients
• Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7
• 4x12-hour shifts on a day/night rotation (7:00–19:00 / 19:00–7:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required
• Epic EMR required
• Skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, rapid response/code team participation, peripheral IV care and management, oxygen therapy (nasal cannula, face masks, portable tanks, non-invasive airway management), and isolation precautions

Requirements

• Active NY RN license currently in hand — no exceptions
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• Ability to manage a 1:5 to 1:7 Med/Surg patient ratio

Additional Information

• 13-week contract
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify
• Scrub color: any combination of navy and white
• 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
