Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Case Manager for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring 2 years of recent acute medical care coordination experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Acute care hospital Case Management department
• Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Patient ratio of 1:25
• Variable 5-day workweek with department operations occurring 7 days per week
• Days off will vary and are not guaranteed to be consecutive, though every effort will be made to schedule consecutive days off when possible
• Floating required to an affiliate facility in Laguna
• All travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required; pending license accepted if licensed by start date
• 2 years of recent acute medical Care Manager experience performing care coordination within the last 3 months required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
• Emergency Department, ICU, and Surgical Services experience preferred
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, disease management, needs assessment, DME ordering, plan of care development, worker's comp case management, and appeals and denials management
• Knowledge of regulatory standards including CMS, HIPAA, OSHA, DRG, and The Joint Commission guidelines
• Scrub color is turquoise or business casual attire
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO limited to no more than 7 days
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Local radius rule of 50 miles applies
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and cannot be within 50 miles of the facility
