Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on a 6th floor unit, requiring Epic proficiency, prior neuro/stroke experience, and an active VA or Compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a Med/Surg Tele unit (6S) within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes medical-surgical and telemetry patients, including neurology/stroke cases
• Patient ratio is 1:7
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Schedule options of 3x12 or 4x12 — candidate preference will be noted
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Floating is required
• Holiday coverage is required within the contract period
• Uses Epic EMR — proficiency is required with no exceptions
• 13-week contract with possible extension

Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license currently in hand — no exceptions
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR proficiency required — no exceptions
• Required skills: IV insertion, telemetry interpretation, and prior experience with neurology/stroke patients
• Must have a clean license and background — any prior hits will result in disqualification
• Must provide a copy of Driver's License and Social Security Card for consideration
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide med/surg telemetry nursing care with a focus on neurological and stroke patient populations
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront at the time of submission
• This position is located in Chesapeake, VA — part of the "Coastal Virginia" area, minutes from Virginia Beach and Norfolk
