Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on a 6th floor unit, requiring Epic proficiency, prior neuro/stroke experience, and an active VA or Compact RN license.
Details
- Work in a Med/Surg Tele unit (6S) within a hospital setting
- Patient population includes medical-surgical and telemetry patients, including neurology/stroke cases
- Patient ratio is 1:7
- Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Schedule options of 3x12 or 4x12 — candidate preference will be noted
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Floating is required
- Holiday coverage is required within the contract period
- Uses Epic EMR — proficiency is required with no exceptions
- 13-week contract with possible extension
Requirements
- Active VA or Compact RN license currently in hand — no exceptions
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic EMR proficiency required — no exceptions
- Required skills: IV insertion, telemetry interpretation, and prior experience with neurology/stroke patients
- Must have a clean license and background — any prior hits will result in disqualification
- Must provide a copy of Driver's License and Social Security Card for consideration
- Two professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide med/surg telemetry nursing care with a focus on neurological and stroke patient populations
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront at the time of submission
- This position is located in Chesapeake, VA — part of the "Coastal Virginia" area, minutes from Virginia Beach and Norfolk
