Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on a Neuro Ortho unit, requiring 2+ years of experience and night shift availability.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with 233 staffed beds
• Neuro Ortho unit with Med/Surg Telemetry (MS/Tele)
• Patient population includes neurological, orthopedic, and telemetry cases, including CVA and total joint replacement patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Every other weekend required; night shift weekends may fall on Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday depending on existing rotation
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs; travelers may be pulled to any unit except ICU, SDU, and ED
• Block scheduling is not available
• Epic EMR used throughout the facility
• No parking costs

Requirements

• Active MO RN license or compact RN license (from state of permanent residence) required
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• 2+ years of RN experience preferred
• Proficiency in neurological/psychiatric care, CVA management, cardiac monitoring, IV therapy/phlebotomy, PICC line management, PCA, and telemetry monitoring
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Valid SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• Fit testing required; facial hair must allow for proper N95 fit testing

• Scrub color: Navy
• RTO is limited to 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of the assignment
• Travelers may remain at this facility system for up to 18 months before a 3-month break is required
• Permanent employees of this health system must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Pre-start orientation modules are required and must be completed prior to the start date
• Candidates with a medical marijuana card are not eligible for this position
• Two professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years are required
