Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on a Neuro Ortho unit, requiring 2+ years of experience and night shift availability.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting with 233 staffed beds
- Neuro Ortho unit with Med/Surg Telemetry (MS/Tele)
- Patient population includes neurological, orthopedic, and telemetry cases, including CVA and total joint replacement patients
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Every other weekend required; night shift weekends may fall on Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday depending on existing rotation
- No on-call requirements
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs; travelers may be pulled to any unit except ICU, SDU, and ED
- Block scheduling is not available
- Epic EMR used throughout the facility
- No parking costs
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or compact RN license (from state of permanent residence) required
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- 2+ years of RN experience preferred
- Proficiency in neurological/psychiatric care, CVA management, cardiac monitoring, IV therapy/phlebotomy, PICC line management, PCA, and telemetry monitoring
- Epic EMR experience required
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Valid SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- Fit testing required; facial hair must allow for proper N95 fit testing
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Scrub color: Navy
- RTO is limited to 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of the assignment
- Travelers may remain at this facility system for up to 18 months before a 3-month break is required
- Permanent employees of this health system must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Pre-start orientation modules are required and must be completed prior to the start date
- Candidates with a medical marijuana card are not eligible for this position
- Two professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years are required
