Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position requiring Level 1 trauma experience and the ability to both scrub and circulate across multiple surgical specialties.

• Hospital-based Operating Room setting
• Level 1 Trauma Center environment
• Surgical specialties include Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery
• Preferred surgical experience includes Neurosurgery (cranial and spine), Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, and Gynecology
• Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• On-call required: one 12-hour shift per month on a Saturday or Sunday (7A–7P or 7P–7A); no weekday call
• Floating to other facilities within the Cook County health system may be required, with up to 50 miles from the home facility, with as little as 2 hours' notice before a shift

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required (no pending licensure)
• Current BLS certification required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Must be proficient in both scrubbing and circulating
• Experience in Ortho, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery required

Additional Information

• Proof of COVID vaccination is required; booster not required — no exceptions
• RTO is capped at 5 days total for the contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days off
• RTO on weekends will not be approved
• No RTO on holidays or on the day before or after a holiday
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates; local candidates may be considered at a separate rate
• No block scheduling or special scheduling requests will be approved
