Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg (Advanced Care) position in Urbana, IL, requiring Epic experience, Level 1 Trauma background, and a valid IL RN license.

Details

• Works on a Med/Surg Advanced Care unit within a hospital setting
• Cares for a mixed patient population including ICU lite and Advanced Care patients managed by a critical care and hospitalist team
• Uses Epic as the EMR system
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• Requires working 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling period
• Holiday shifts on a rotation basis
• May float to like units as needed

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in good standing (temp license accepted)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Performs patient assessments, develops and implements individualized plans of care, and adjusts care based on ongoing evaluation
• Utilizes hourly rounding, bedside shift report, and whiteboards to maintain effective communication with patients and families
• Collaborates with critical care team for ICU lite patients and with hospitalists for Advanced Care patients
• Candidates who have been on continuous assignment with Carle Health for 1 year must either convert to permanent staff or take a 6-month break before returning to any Carle Health location
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days for the duration of a 13-week contract
• Facility conducts leader interviews as part of the candidate selection process
