Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a PM shift radiology position in Morristown, NJ, requiring ARRT RT(R) and RT(CT) certifications and an active NJ state X-ray license.

Details

• Acute care hospital radiology department, CT scanning unit with 3 dedicated CT rooms (CT 1, 2, and 3)
• Performs routine, emergent, and unscheduled CT procedures including Code Grey and trauma protocols
• Assesses patients for contrast tolerance, screens for allergies and medication incompatibilities, and monitors patient condition before and after contrast injections
• Charting performed in Epic
• Monday–Friday PM shift, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM
• 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week, 40 hours per week
• On-call is required
• May be required to float to a sister hospital nearby as needed

Requirements

• ARRT RT(R) and ARRT RT(CT) certifications required
• Active NJ state X-ray license (NJDEP) required — license required if applicable
• BLS certification required
• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of an accredited Radiographer Technical training program (school of radiography or college-based radiography program) required
• Experience with venipuncture and power injector protocols required
• Proficiency with PACS and RIS systems required
• Must be able to initiate emergency response in the event of a patient complication
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include performing and processing CT scans, sending and verifying images in PACS/RIS, and notifying the radiologist of Code Grey cases and any unusual findings
• Point staff duties include triaging procedures, coordinating emergent and unscheduled requests, managing workflow, communicating patient status across departments, and ensuring timely patient transport
• Performs daily maintenance including cleaning the CT gantry, table, and peripheral equipment after each use, restocking supplies, and maintaining QA/QC requirements for daily, monthly, and ACR specifications
• Notifies Lead or Coordinator of equipment malfunctions, expired medications, or unusual equipment conditions
• Two professional references are required for consideration
• Epic charting experience is expected
