Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring a minimum of one year of L&D experience and AHA-certified credentials including NRP Advanced Provider or Instructor.

- Labor & Delivery unit within a hospital setting
- Night shift, 12-hour days, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- Level 1 L&D experience required; up to 2–5 years of L&D experience preferred by the manager
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active OK state RN license or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC) required
- Minimum of 1 year of L&D experience required
- Associate's Degree from an accredited school of nursing required; BSN or MSN preferred
- Required certifications (AHA only): BLS, ACLS, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, and NRP Advanced Provider or NRP Instructor
- Level 1 L&D experience required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Full date of birth (DOB) required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, including monitoring physiological data and intervening as necessary
- Administers medications, initiates and monitors IV infusions and blood products
- Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and changes in physician orders
- Assists physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Interacts with patients and families to communicate care plans and hospital procedures, including discharge planning
- Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Workers who have previously been placed at this facility are limited to one extension (maximum 26 total weeks) and must have a 6-month separation before being eligible for a subsequent contract
- Compliance with onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon offer acceptance — start dates will not be pushed for non-compliance
