Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Mixed Acuity PCU/Medical-Surgical position with solid neuro experience required and night shift availability.
Details
- Work in a Mixed Progressive Care Unit (MPCU) within a 194-bed short-term acute care hospital
- Mixed acuity unit serving both medical-surgical and progressive care level patients
- Specialty areas include oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary
- MS patients are cared for at a 1:5–6 ratio; PCU patients at a 1:3–4 ratio
- Patients may include unstable strokes and those requiring BiPAP support
- Vasoactive and specialty drips administered, including Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Insulin
- Charting via Cerner (experience required)
- Night shift: 4x12-hour shifts, 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
- Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
- Free parking available
- Scrub color: red top, black bottoms
Requirements
- Active IN state RN license, Compact RN license, or IN temporary license required prior to start
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA or RQI accepted)
- Minimum 18 months to 2 years of RN experience required
- Solid neurological nursing experience required
- Background in MS/Telemetry or PCU nursing accepted
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program required
- Indiana-licensed RNs are not eligible for this position (PCU/MS/MS-Tele/ICU/ER roles are excluded per facility policy)

- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are not accepted for this position
- Travelers must have been separated from any IU Health permanent or PRN employment for at least 12 months before applying
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- 13-week contract
