Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Mixed Acuity PCU/Med-Surg position with solid neuro experience, Cerner proficiency, and an IN or compact RN license.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting with 194 staffed beds
- Mixed acuity unit serving both Medical-Surgical and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) level patients
- Specialty areas include oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary care
- MS patient ratio is 1:5-6; PCU patient ratio is 1:3-4
- Nurses will manage cardizem, amiodarone, and insulin drips
- Unit sees unstable stroke patients and patients requiring BiPAP
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:00–06:30
- Charting via Cerner (required)
- Free parking available
- Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
Requirements
- Active IN state, compact, or IN temporary RN license required; must be in hand prior to start
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA and RQI formats accepted)
- Minimum 18 months to 2 years of RN experience required
- Solid neuro nursing experience required
- MS/Tele or PCU RN background accepted
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited university required
- Indiana-licensed RNs are not eligible for this position per current facility policy (PCU is not an exempt role)

- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are not accepted for this position
- Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
- Former permanent or PRN employees of the facility must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Scrub dress code: red top, black bottoms
