Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medicine Specialty Step Down Unit position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring at least one year of Med/Surg or Step Down experience and an active RN or compact license.
Details
- Med Specialty Step Down Unit in a hospital setting
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- Med/Surg and Step Down patient population; ICU experience preferred
- 13-week travel contract
Requirements
- Active OK RN license or current multistate compact (eNLC) RN license required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — AHA-issued certifications only
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg and/or Step Down (SD) nursing experience required
- ICU experience preferred
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, documenting patient responses, and coordinating care plans with patients and families
- Assists physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility are eligible to extend once (for a total of 26 weeks); after 26 weeks, a 6-month separation period is required before beginning a new contract
- Compliance with onboarding requirements (drug screening, background check, medical requirements) must begin immediately upon acceptance of offer — the facility does not allow delayed start dates for non-compliance
- Full date of birth (DOB) is required for consideration
