Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a fast-paced, 8-room procedural IR unit at a Level I trauma hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and ARRT certification.
Details
- Fast-paced, 8-room procedural IR unit within a Level I trauma hospital
- Patient population includes both outpatient and critically ill inpatients, including emergent trauma and stroke patients
- Procedures include embolizations (neuro and body), drain placements/exchanges, central line placements, Y90 planning and implant, and more
- Each procedure room is staffed with 1 RN and 1-2 Rad Techs, with a tech-to-patient ratio of 1:2
- Charting performed in Epic
- Equipment used includes Siemens imaging systems
- 4x10 hour day shifts, typically 7:30 AM–6:00 PM, with occasional 7:00 AM starts
- Monday through Friday schedule with required weekend call coverage
- Weeknight call runs from 6:00 PM to 7:30 AM; weekend call runs from Friday at 6:00 PM through Monday at 7:30 AM, every 4–6 weeks
- Weekday call required once per week (6:00 PM–7:30 AM)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of IR Tech experience required
- ARRT and BLS certifications required
- Experience in a high-acuity, Level I trauma setting preferred given the patient population
- Proficiency with Siemens equipment required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Must be available for required weeknight and weekend call shifts
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position; candidates with particularly strong experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Parking is available in a shuttle lot; on-call workers may park closer to the facility
