Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level IV NICU position at a children's hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Level III-IV NICU experience and night shift availability.
Details
- Level IV NICU at a 152-bed children's hospital (2nd highest-level NICU in the state)
- 70-bed NICU unit with a typical census of around 50 patients
- NICU is part of a pediatric hospital attached to an adult hospital with high-risk labor and delivery
- Private patient rooms; overflow to Level II Nursery for feeders/growers is possible
- Patient population includes premature infants as young as 22 weeks gestation, RDS, high-risk deliveries, feeders/growers, and NAS; preferred experience with surgical patients and HIE
- 12-hour night shifts (0700–1930 or 1900–0730)
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend rotation required; occasional back-to-back weekends possible but rare
- Floating to the ER to serve as a sitter is possible but rare
- No on-call requirements
- Block scheduling is possible
- EMR: Epic
- Any scrub color is acceptable
Requirements
- Active WA state RN license or compact RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS and NRP
- Minimum 2 years of Level III–IV NICU experience required
- Ventilator/respiratory support experience required
- Trach experience highly preferred
- Proficiency with g-tubes, NG/OG tubes, NCPAP, UAC/UVC management, PICC lines, medication administration, care planning, and discharge-to-home processes
- At least one supervisor-level reference (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or above) required for consideration; a second reference will be needed prior to start
Additional Information
- Provide specialized neonatal nursing care in a high-acuity Level IV NICU setting
- Surgical patient and HIE experience is preferred but not required
- First-time travelers will be considered, though travel experience is strongly preferred
