Description
American Traveler is seeking a CT Technologist with ARRT CT & R certification and a minimum of 2 years of experience for an overnight position at an orthopedic specialty hospital in Manhattan.
Details
- Orthopedic specialty hospital setting in Manhattan, supporting both inpatient and outpatient imaging needs
- CT and X-ray procedures performed in exam rooms or via portable equipment
- Orthopedic-focused caseload including extremities, spine/pelvis, head, chest/thorax, and musculoskeletal imaging
- CT procedures include abdomen, pelvis, head/neck, chest, spine, musculoskeletal, brain perfusion, CTAs, and multiplanar reconstruction
- Patient population spans pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Daily caseload of up to 20 patients; lower volume expected on the overnight shift
- Candidate may be rotated across multiple departments within the hospital or at an affiliated offsite location across the street
- Experience with portable equipment required
- Epic EMR experience preferred but not required
- 5x8 hour night shifts, midnight to 8:30 AM, Monday through Friday
- First two weeks of the assignment will require daytime hours for training before transitioning to the regular overnight schedule
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of CT Technologist experience
- Current ARRT CT & R certifications required
- Active NY state license required (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS certification required
- DOHNYS certification required
- IV certification required
- Experience performing X-rays including extremities, spine/pelvis, head, chest/thorax, and musculoskeletal studies
- Experience across inpatient, outpatient, ER, and adult ICU settings
- Siemens equipment experience preferred
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or move patients and equipment in excess of 150 lbs, with or without assistive devices
- COVID vaccination required — no exceptions
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Charcoal grey scrubs required
- Traveler will work independently on the overnight shift due to low patient volume
- RTO of 5 days or less permitted; no RTO will be approved within the first 2 weeks of the assignment
- Former staff must have been gone for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- Complimentary parking is available in an assigned employee garage upon badge pickup; street parking is also available
