Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring Epic experience and a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience.
Details
- Work setting is a hospital Emergency Department
- Night shift: 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
- 2 on-call shifts required per 6-week schedule period; call shifts are 13 hours with expectation of onsite arrival within one hour
- A 2-week nights rotation is required of all travelers
- Every other weekend shift required
- Holiday shifts on a rotation basis
- No floating required
- Epic EMR experience is required
- Trauma Level 2 or higher experience is highly preferred
Requirements
- Active IL RN license in good standing (temp license accepted)
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- TNCC is highly preferred
- Minimum 3 years of relevant ED nursing experience
- ASN required; BSN preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Trauma Level 2 or higher experience strongly preferred
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Performs comprehensive patient assessments, develops and continuously modifies individualized care plans in collaboration with providers, patients, and families
- Executes nursing interventions, monitors patient response, and maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation throughout the patient stay
- Upholds patient and staff safety standards by identifying, reporting, and correcting safety hazards
- Collaborates effectively with the interdisciplinary team, patients, and families to support a positive care environment
- Travelers who have been on assignment at any Carle Health location for 1 cumulative year must either convert or take a 6-month break in service before returning to any Carle Health location
- RTO (time off) not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- First-time travelers are not explicitly excluded; however, the experience requirements are significant — candidates should have strong ED and trauma backgrounds
