Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position in Urbana, IL, requiring at least 1 year of OR nursing experience, Epic proficiency, and an active IL RN license.
Details
- General OR setting within a Level 1 Trauma hospital
- Day shift schedule: 4x10s, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM, with day off TBD
- On-call required: 3–4 shifts per 4-week period, including weekends and holidays
- 40 hours per week
- No floating requirements
Requirements
- Active IL RN license in good standing required; temporary license accepted
- BLS certification (AHA) required
- Minimum 1 year of relevant OR nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- ASN required; BSN preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include preparing the OR suite with necessary supplies, equipment, and medications
- Performs patient identification, pre-procedure timeouts, and appropriate positioning using safety guidelines
- Provides circulating support to the surgical team during procedures, including managing specimens, cultures, blood products, and dressings
- Transports patients to PACU or receiving unit and provides handoff to receiving RN
- Candidate interviews are conducted by facility leadership
- Travelers who have been on continuous assignment for 1 year at this health system must take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system
- RTO is not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
