Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN - Perioperative Circulator for an Adult Surgery OR unit, requiring at least 1 year of acute OR experience and a Level 1 trauma background, working Saturday–Monday night shifts.

- Adult Surgery operating room unit at an academic medical center
- Perioperative circulator role focused on operative and other invasive procedures for adult patients
- Night shift schedule: 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (Saturday, Sunday, Monday nights)
- 36 hours per week
- Holiday and on-call coverage required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or eNLC compact license) required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
- CNOR preferred
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an acute operating room environment required
- Level 1 trauma center experience of 6+ months required
- Strong knowledge of AORN standards and perioperative nursing practices
- Proficient in organizing, planning, coordinating, and evaluating nursing care in an OR setting
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Responsible for direct and indirect professional nursing care of patients in the operating room throughout the perioperative continuum
- Individualizes patient care based on health status, age, and the specific surgery or procedure being performed
- Performs ongoing evaluation and documentation of all components of patient care utilizing the nursing process
- Compliance requirements (drug screening, background check, medical requirements) must be initiated immediately upon acceptance of an offer — the facility enforces strict compliance deadlines with no exceptions
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must complete a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a new contract (maximum of one extension allowed, for a combined total of 26 weeks)

The unit I was on was mostly made up of travel nurses, which they seem the hire some of the laziest people I’ve ever met. There is a reason they offer such a high pay rate because this place is horrible.
