Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Pediatric ICU (PICU) position in New Jersey, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PICU experience and active NJ or Compact RN license.

Details

• Hospital-based Pediatric ICU (PICU) setting with 4 dedicated PICU beds and 8 convertible beds that can serve as monitored or general pediatric beds
• Pediatric patient population, including COVID-positive patients; nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 in the PICU and 1:3-4 in the pediatric area
• Equipment used includes CPAP, Vapotherm, and high-flow oxygen therapy
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every third weekend required
• Self-scheduling with manager final approval; block scheduling is available, but assigned weekends must be honored
• Floating as helping hands only (no full unit float)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NJ State or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• Must be able to pass a basic arrhythmia exam
• COVID vaccination card required for consideration
• Nursys verification required for consideration

Additional Information

• No PCAs on unit — nurses are responsible for providing total patient care
• Unit cares for COVID-positive pediatric patients
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are considered local and may be subject to a different pay structure
• First-time travelers are not explicitly approved — prior travel or strong unit experience is recommended
