Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level IV Trauma Center in Kenosha, WI, requiring 2 years of ED experience and a critical care skill set.
Details
- Work setting is a 74-bed hospital Emergency Department with a 21-bed main unit plus a 6-bed annex, located in Kenosha, WI
- Patient population includes all ages across a Level IV Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, and Accredited Chest Pain Center
- Active Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE) program with RN on-call 24/7 for applicable cases
- RN-to-patient ratio is 1:4 on both days and nights; tech ratio is 1:8
- 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
- Weekend rotation of 1 weekend per month required
- No call or on-call responsibilities
- No floating required
- EMR is Epic; Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis med dispensing, and GE monitors are used
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC or TNS, and CPI or MOAB
- Minimum 2 years of ED or critical care experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
- Critical care level skill set required
- At least 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, dated within the last year, required for consideration
- Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Orientation includes at least 1 shift to learn unit flow and workflow
- Unit support includes a charge nurse with reduced patient assignment, in-house hospitalist 24/7, in-house ED MD 24/7, HUC 24/7, and phlebotomy assistance for peripheral blood draws
- Nursing station telemetry monitoring is performed without a dedicated tele tech
- No holiday coverage requirements
- Scrubs must be a solid color with no graphics, logos, or designs
- Free parking available on-site
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius restrictions apply
