Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position at a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital in North Carolina, requiring EKG exam passage and Epic EMR experience.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting, Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital with 733 staffed beds
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with telemetry monitoring
• Patient ratio of 1:4–5
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope or between like units required to meet facility needs
• No on-call responsibilities
• Charting system: Epic (experience required)

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of PCU or comparable RN experience required
• Must pass an EKG exam — no exceptions
• Epic EMR experience required
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the main campus to be eligible
• Travel pairs are not accepted for this unit
• Royal blue and white scrubs required
• Pre-start orientation modules required (approximately 4–10 hours)
• RTO is subject to manager's discretion, with a general maximum of 4 days; all scheduling requests must be submitted upfront
• Only 1 holiday approval can be accommodated per contract
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have been gone for at least 1 year before returning
• Night shift travelers may extend their contract up to twice before being required to leave for a minimum of 6 months
