Description
American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist for a diagnostic radiology unit at a Level I Trauma and Level I Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital, with 12-hour night shifts on a weekend-only schedule.
Details
- Diagnostic radiology department within a large acute care teaching hospital designated as a Level I Trauma Center and Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, also recognized as a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center
- Patient population includes adults and pediatrics from the ED, ICUs, nursing units, and outpatient settings across the full spectrum of radiology exams and diagnoses
- High-volume department averaging 350–400 patients per day
- Equipment includes Shimadzu RadSpeed general rad room, Intelli-C multipurpose unit, Konica and Shimadzu portables, and GE and Siemens R/F rooms
- EMR: Epic (experience preferred)
- 12-hour night shifts, Friday/Saturday/Sunday, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (36 hours/week)
- Weekend-only position with no rotation between weekdays and weekends
- On-call is required and shared equitably among full-time, part-time, PRN, and travel staff
- No floating required
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in diagnostic radiology
- Current BLS and ARRT-R certification required
- Active state license required, if applicable
- Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Orientation includes a facility and departmental tour with introductions, plus up to 5 days of departmental orientation (flexible based on traveler needs)
- Department is supported by a lead tech, modality supervisor, and Imaging Manager, with a diverse team ranging from new graduates to long-tenured staff
- Holiday coverage is expected unless time off is pre-approved by the manager
- RTO requires manager approval
- Required scrub color: black
- Free parking available across multiple on-site parking decks
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
- Former permanent employees of any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
